Claremont Country Club
Oakland, CA · Country Club · Est. 1903
Claremont Country Club is a historic private club founded in 1903 in the hills of Oakland, California, and stands as one of the Bay Area's most enduring golf institutions. The 18-hole course was originally designed by John McLaren and significantly reshaped by Alister MacKenzie in 1926, featuring the hilly, tight-fairway terrain characteristic of MacKenzie's work. The club hosted the 1929 U.S. Women's Amateur Championship and is noted for its demanding par-68 layout, including a celebrated 155-yard par-three 7th hole frequently compared to the iconic short 7th at Pebble Beach.
