Private Clubs & Country Clubs in Cherry Hill

Merchantville Country Club is one of New Jersey's oldest private clubs, founded in 1892 and now situated in Cherry Hill after relocating from its original Merchantville home in 1954. The 18-hole course was designed by Alexander H. Findlay, a prolific architect known for his work on Philadelphia-area layouts, and has hosted notable Philadelphia PGA Section events including the 1964 Philadelphia Open Championship.

The Legacy Club is a private 18-hole golf club in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, originally established as Woodcrest Country Club in 1929 and renamed following new ownership in 2021. Designed by William S. Flynn and Howard C. Toomey, the 178-acre course features tight fairways, subtle greens, and deep bunkering characteristic of Flynn's Philadelphia School approach to strategic design. With a slope rating of 140 from the championship tees, the layout remains one of South Jersey's more demanding Flynn-designed tests.
