About Burning Tree Club

Burning Tree Club is a storied men's only private club founded in 1922 by Supreme Court Justice Pierce Butler and members of Washington's political and business elite in Bethesda, Maryland. The Ian Macdonald-designed parkland course, later refined by Alfred Tull in 1950, plays to a par 72 at 6,955 yards with a slope rating of 142. The club maintains a traditional walking-only policy and remains one of the most exclusive and historically significant golf institutions in the Washington, D.C. area.
