Elgin Country Club
Elgin, IL · Country Club · Est. 1901
Elgin Country Club is one of Illinois's oldest private golf clubs, established in 1901 along the rolling terrain of Elgin, just west of Chicago. The 18-hole layout was originally designed by prolific early-20th-century architect Tom Bendelow and later updated in 1965 by Larry Packard, preserving the course's classic character while modernizing select holes. The club hosted the 1954 Illinois State Amateur Championship and remains known for its mature tree-lined fairways and a demanding par-3 12th hole featuring a prominent water hazard.
