About Waverley Country Club
Waverley Country Club, founded in 1896 in Portland, Oregon, holds the distinction of being the oldest private golf club west of the Mississippi River. The 18-hole championship course was originally designed by H. Chandler Egan in 1910 along the banks of the Willamette River, and has hosted four USGA championships, including the U.S. Women's Open in 1970 and the U.S. Women's Amateur in both 1952 and 1993. A historic 1912 Craftsman-style clubhouse and a rolling riverside setting further define this landmark of Pacific Northwest golf history.
