Southern Hills Country Club is one of America's premier championship golf venues, founded in 1936 in Tulsa, Oklahoma on land donated by oil magnate Waite Phillips. Perry Maxwell's original design, known for its signature crowned greens and winding creek system, has hosted seven major championships including multiple U.S. Opens and PGA Championships, most recently the 2007 PGA Championship won by Tiger Woods. A meticulous Gil Hanse restoration completed in 2019 returned the course to its classic Maxwell character while preparing it for continued championship play.
