About Shinnecock Hills Golf Club
Shinnecock Hills Golf Club, founded in 1891 in Southampton, New York, is one of the oldest and most historically significant private golf clubs in the United States, serving as a founding member of the USGA and home to the nation's oldest golf clubhouse — a Stanford White-designed landmark built in 1892. The William Flynn-redesigned course, later restored by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw, plays as a demanding links-style layout across natural sand dunes with fescue-lined fairways and Atlantic winds, stretching 7,445 yards to a par of 70. Shinnecock Hills has hosted five U.S. Opens, most recently in 2018, and is consistently ranked among the top golf courses in the world.
