About The Apawamis Club
The Apawamis Club is a historic private golf club founded in 1890 in Rye, New York, and stands among the oldest golf clubs in the United States. The original 18-hole course was designed by Herbert Strong at the turn of the 20th century and later refined by Gil Hanse in 2007, with the club hosting the 1911 U.S. Amateur Championship. Set on hilly, undulating former farmland in Westchester County, the par-71 layout offers a strategically engaging test of golf with deep roots in American golf history.
