About Shackamaxon Country Club
Shackamaxon Country Club is a historic private club in Scotch Plains, New Jersey, founded in 1914 and set on an A.W. Tillinghast-designed 18-hole course dating to 1916. The club is notable for its early island green on the 18th hole, one of the first examples of this design feature in American golf, as well as its original Tillinghast bunker complexes restored by Stephen Kay in 2012. Shackamaxon has a rich competitive legacy, having hosted three New Jersey State Open championships in the 1920s.
