The 18-hole, par-72 course was later renovated by George Fazio in 1955 and has hosted the Florida State Amateur Championship, lending it a meaningful place in the state's competitive golf history. The course is also known for "Alligator Alley," a signature par-4 hole that reflects the distinctly Florida character of the layout.
