About Sawgrass Country Club
Sawgrass Country Club is a 27-hole private club in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, best known as the original host of The Players Championship from 1977 to 1981. Designed by Ed Seay of Palmer Course Design Company and opened in 1974, the layout has since been refined through renovations by Robert Walker and Arnold Palmer Design Company, with a slope rating of 140 on the East-West course.
