About Vestavia Country Club
Vestavia Country Club is a private 18-hole club established in 1946 on the slopes of Shades Mountain in Birmingham, Alabama, taking its name from the historic Vestavia Temple built by former mayor George Ward. The course was originally designed by George Cobb, a prominent Southeast golf architect, and later renovated by Lester George in 1999-2000, featuring dramatic elevation changes and a par-71 layout stretching 6,745 yards. The club has hosted notable regional competitions including the Alabama State Amateur Championship and maintains a strong presence in Birmingham's private club landscape.
