About Portage Country Club
Portage Country Club is one of Ohio's oldest private golf clubs, established in the 1890s and situated in Akron's West Hill neighborhood. The club's 18-hole course was redesigned in 1926 by Golden Age architect William Langford following the club's relocation, featuring classic bunkering and the natural rolling terrain of Northeast Ohio. Portage has served as a host venue for Ohio Golf Association championships, including the Ohio Amateur, cementing its place in the state's golf history.
