About Wolferts Roost Country Club
Wolferts Roost Country Club is a historic private club founded in Albany, New York, with roots tracing back to 1915 on land tied to Washington Irving's iconic Wolfert's Roost estate. The original 18-hole course was designed by Walter Travis, one of the foremost golf architects of the early 20th century, and underwent a meticulous restoration by Gil Hanse in 2014 that revived Travis's classic green complexes and bunkering patterns. The club has twice hosted the New York State Amateur Championship and remains one of the Capital Region's most architecturally significant golf destinations.
