About Somerset Hills Country Club
Somerset Hills Country Club is a historic private club founded in 1899 in Bernardsville, New Jersey, featuring an 18-hole course designed by A.W. Tillinghast in 1918 on the former estate of tobacco magnate John Dryden. Widely regarded as one of Tillinghast's earliest masterpieces, the course preserves nearly its entire original routing and incorporates the natural terrain of the estate, including a former horse racing track. The club has hosted multiple USGA championships and underwent a faithful restoration by Hanse Golf Course Design in 2018, cementing its status as one of the most authentic Tillinghast layouts in existence.
