About Sara Bay Country Club
Sara Bay Country Club is a historic private golf club in Sarasota, Florida, founded in 1926 as part of the Whitfield Estates residential development. The 18-hole, par-72 layout was designed by Donald Ross during Florida's 1920s land boom and has undergone faithful restorations in 2008 and 2018 by Ron Forse and Jim Nagle to preserve its original elevated greens and signature bunkering. The club carries notable championship pedigree, having hosted a 1940 Florida West Coast Open won by Ben Hogan and the 1973 LPGA S&H Green Stamp Classic.
