About Lake Wales Country Club
Lake Wales Country Club is a historic private club founded in 1923 as part of the planned development of Lake Wales, Florida, featuring an 18-hole, par-72 championship course designed by the architectural firm of Stiles and Van Kleek. The course is known for its signature multi-tiered "step" greens, a hallmark of the Stiles and Van Kleek design philosophy, along with a slope rating of 130 that reflects its enduring challenge. The club hosted the 1985 Florida Open Championship and underwent a greens renovation by noted architect Ron Garl in 2002.
